After spending months on a massive remodeling project in 2017, Villa Serenidad is now nearly perfect. Expanding upon the open design of the original house, we drastically increased the patio / terrace, refinished the pool, added a roof to a portion of the patio, increased and opened up the parking area, built a massive retaining wall to keep it all in place and refurbished most of the original house, among about a thousand other little things.
In addition, we shipped in a number of amenities from the USA including outdoor full length loungers, lounge chairs and table chairs.

Relax on the beautiful all natural coralina stone terrace at Villa Serenidad. Morning, afternoon or evening, there is an abundance of room for your entire group to relax in and around the pool.
Villa Serenidad was built with you in mind. The villa is easy to access for all ages and very comfortable for first time visitors. Safely tucked away near the end of a road, the area is sparsely populated but the few residents are all very friendly.

Villa Serenidad is calm, peaceful and quiet. We are near the end of a dead end road in a small gated community. Very serene.
The locally made dining room table has seating for 8 with 3 additional seats at the island. Booster seat included. Of course, more chairs can be added as needed.
A chefs dream of a kitchen. All the amenities you would expect and more. An oven, stove top, dishwasher, garbage disposal and much much more.
A king bed welcome you in the Master bedroom. All bedrooms feature overhead fans, charging stations for your electronics, dimmable LED lamps, and of course a variety of pillows for your sleeping comfort.
Resting on the side of a hill, the views and privacy from the villa are outstanding. Follow the path to the river below for some early morning exercise.
Our kitchen is fully loaded so whether you want to hire a local chef to prepare your meals or you enjoy creating your own delights, we have everything you will need.

A recent 2018/2019 addition, we now supply Raw Botanicals Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash in all three bathrooms. Often seen in 5 star resorts, Raw Botanicals is a natural product made in Costa Rica you will be sure to love.

Bedroom #4 features a custom made queen bed fabricated by the artisans in Sarchi. The closets were built by an artisan in Atenas. Bedroom #4 also has a wonderful view or if you wish, pull down the Canet blinds and sleep late.
Bedroom #3, features a queen bed, made by a local artisan. All bedrooms have lamps and multiple plug ins for your phone, laptop, alarm clock and lamp.
Bedroom #2 features two trundle beds which have pull out beds located underneath. Four twin mattress in total.
DVD movies, games, books, playing cards and more for you to enjoy. Every bedroom is already equipped with night lamps but we have additional lamps and reading lamps for your use.
Our 24′ (7 meter) high ceilings allow the villa to maintain a comfortable temperature all day and overhead fans help keep you cool on those warm Costa Rican afternoons as needed.

The solar powered LED torch lamps surrounding the terrace look superb at night. It’s not uncommon to enjoy the pool into the evening hours.
Three volcanoes can be seen from Villa Serenidad with Poas being the most famous about 20 miles (30 km) away. The mountain roads in the distance light up at night creating an amazing view on clear nights.
Always a favorite with families, we supply a variety of pool toys and inflatables for our guests. No need to drive all over town trying to find them like other places make you do. This has been a pet peeve of ours at rental after rental!
This amazing meal was prepared for us by a local neighbor family. We are happy to provide their contact info should you wish to hire them also. This meal, which fed 8 of us and had plenty of leftovers, was surprisingly inexpensive! Delicious!!!

The BBQ sits under cover on the patio. Rain or shine, the grill works great. Don’t forget to talk to Ronny, the farmer up the road, to purchase a fresh chicken. Delicious!
We welcome guests with a thorough guidebook, a great sounding audio system with streaming Bluetooth to play music throughout the villa and patio from your smart phone. In addition, charging stations are located throughout the villa.

The views out across the River Cacao river valley extending all the way to the volcanoes in the distance never gets old. With a 180 degree view at the edge of the patio, the views are nearly endless.
We have all the comfortable seating and lay down loungers your will ever need. All told, we have more than 15 individual chairs and loungers to relax on.

Villa Serenidad sits on 2 acres of pristine land in the Central Valley. Tucked under the terrace is 5,000L (1,300 gallons) of water storage. You won’t notice it but we never run out of water which unfortunately happens all over Atenas otherwise.

A waterfall on the River Cacao, just down the hill from Villa Serenidad. Makes for a great morning hike or a cool afternoon dip.
Playa Blance at Punta Leona is our favorite beach and is only about an hour away. This private beach is accessible from Playa Mantas via a short walk.

Catarata del Toro Waterfall. A 270 Foot majestic beauty and one of, if not the best, waterfalls in Costa Rica.
This beautiful keel-billed Toucan was photographed just a few meters from our veranda. Often seen in small groups, this flock consisted of four Toucans.
Guided snorkeling tours are available or head to the beach and either rent or bring along your own gear.
The beautiful birds are seen right outside our doors, usually in pairs.
Iguanas can be seen at the villa. They love to climbs trees and bath in the warm sun. They are harmless and won’t let you get too close before running away.
Manuel Antonio National Park makes for a great day trip. Monkeys are a common sight there along with many other areas in Costa Rica.
Also seen at Manuel Antonio National Park are sloths. A keen eye is needed to spot these guys hanging out in the trees nearly all day long.
